The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is a European Union programme that offers young people aged 18 to 30 the chance to engage in meaningful solidarity activities across Europe and beyond. It’s about making a difference—in communities, in the environment, and in people’s lives—while gaining valuable personal and professional experience.
ESC supports two main types of opportunities:
- Volunteering: Join individual or team projects in areas like social inclusion, education, environment, youth work, and more. Volunteering can last from 2 weeks to 12 months and is fully funded—covering travel, accommodation, insurance, language support, and pocket money.
- Jobs and Traineeships: In some cases, ESC offers placements in organisations that focus on solidarity-based work.
ESC also supports solidarity projects initiated by young people at the local level, empowering them to address challenges in their own communities.
The programme promotes inclusion, diversity, and citizenship, giving young people the chance to learn, connect, and grow through shared action. It’s also a great stepping stone for future careers in civil society, social entrepreneurship, and EU-related fields.
Whether you’re looking to help others, gain experience, or explore Europe, the European Solidarity Corps is a unique adventure in learning through service.
