We are a creative civil association based in Aarhus, Denmark. As a non-profit, we prioritize social relationships, collective intelligence, and public issues above all. As an education hub, we co-design non-formal training programs that encourage civic creativity and entrepreneurship.
Amics
We are an Erasmus association that was founded in 2005 in Valencia, Spain. We are an entity that deals with training values through non-formal education, especially through the creation and dissemination of board games. Another topic that is very close to our hearts is the promotion of mobility, especially for young people in rural areas.
The Soup Community Stage framework is designed to motivate neighbours in rural areas and small and medium-sized cities to share problems, ideas and solutions around local issues and untapped opportunities, with the aim of developing their community.
The forum side of Soup is all about purposeful networking. When local people come together with a like-minded purpose in mind, there is a powerful space for problem-solving, new friendships, and different viable project-ideas to emerge. In the context of a Soup dinner, people know better how to ask for help, and how to give support.
Using the format of a cozy dinner, Soup creates a safe space that works as a forum and as a collaboration hub. When a person comes for a bowl of soup and listens to 4 locals pitch their ideas to them, they get informed about problems and opportunities in their community they may have not been aware of before.
The collaboration side of Soup is all about micro-granting value. A soup dinner creates the conditions for different forms of value to be invested. Some examples are 1) high-quality/expert feedback coming from the audience, 2) great volunteering opportunities around engaging and emerging projects, 3) more financial investment.
Juliana
A theater play called “MOM” premiered a bit before the play director pitched at a Soup. During the dinner, a group of people specializing in crowdfunding offered her assistance to launch her own crowdfunding campaign, which resulted in many more people gaining awareness about the play.
Shaeema
A science communication project called “Science Melting Pot” was first pitched at a Soup dinner. After receiving votes from a majority of attendees, they got their first capital to host workshops. Soon after, the founder got inspired to create a complementary company focused on training school teachers. That enabled new funding that supported both projects professionally.
Esben
A platform called ThoughtStream, dealing with mental health challenges among young researchers in academia. After receiving support at Soup, they signed up for a crowdfunding training programme designed by C-Cube, and prepared their first campaign to be launched at a public platform managed by the municipality of Aarhus.
