Turkey: Aydın Public Education Centre “Aydın Halk Eğitim Merkezi ve Akşam Sanat Okulu” is a public centre supported by the Ministry of National Education. The students are over 25. Most of them are unemployed, others want to promote in their careers or to find a better job and others want to study because they couldn’t do it before and also they have to carry some qualifications to be employed in Aydın.English and German are thought as foreign languages. Computer adult and and child care courses designed to the women emigrated from rural areas, carpet weaving, embroiling, painting,patchwork,training Turkish estate agents, guidance to the joint associations. Our policy is to train everybody according to their needs in life. We have been making a great effort to activate European citizenship on the courses that are made by our institution to integrate European character because of the deep desire among the Turks nationwide. About 85 teachers staffs work in our centre and have about 14000 students each year.
Germany: „HochVier e V.“ is a non-profit, non- governamental organisation for education for human rights and democracy, founded in 2004 in Potsdam, a city very close to Berlin, in the county of Brandenburg. Our emphasis is on: active citizenship, ecology, European Union and european awareness, intecultural communication and social and economic development. We deal with them creatively, organising seminars, study trips, simulations, meetings and workshops, thus, non-formal education. Our intention with this project is comparing from different experiences and methods of letting a person active in his/her society used by the other partners. The common goal is also develop new ones. This project represents also a chance to discuss about the main differences among the several european countries in what active citizenship concerns. Each partner, with its historical, political,social and economical changes of the last 20 years will give its contribute in the discussions during this collaboration. In this way, we will all have the chance to understand and learn more about each other. To built a European Union that really makes sense, each nation as such should have citizens aware of their rights and of the importance of living in a tolerant and democratic society. European Union cannot be only a number of laws, deals and treaties. First, we need a social cohesion and common values to build a real „Union“. This Grundtvig project is a way to educate people, to let a citizen be as such, involving, in this case, teachers and learners. They will join this project, taking active part, for example, intecultural exchanges, in seminars and workshops.
Spain: We are a local NGO, dealing with adults education and cultural promotion in the depressed area of La Fonteta (surroundings of the city of Valencia). We are active since 2005 and we will take an active part in the project by managing the online and ICT learning outcomes.
We have activities with children and also adults, mainly cultural and social activities in order to improve the skills and knowdleges for a better life standard.
We are based on a volunteer structure of around 15-20 people.
